Image Essay # 13

This image in particular is very confusing when you first take a look at it but if you look closely you can see the multiple textures that it has. By first glance it is almost impossible to notice all of the different textures that it incorporates. Look closely and you can see the smoothness on the mounds that almost look like hills. It gives you the sense that you are just floating in the wind while walking in a meadow. In another way it can also look like mountains too just by the conflicting textures that were used. This is supposed to represent all of the multiple terrains that may inhabit a single area anywhere in the world. You can also see the different depths in the land a lot better when you add the texture otherwise it would just look like one solid object. With this birds eye view you can really see the cast of the land and how everything interacts with one another. You could almost say that the texture shows how much tension there really is between the land masses. When adding texture to a piece you can change the meaning entirely and that is exactly what happened here.
