Image Essay # 8

I feel that this image has a really good value pattern and it is pleasing to the eyes. This image shows the true aspects of the land and how much depth one landscape can have and how well we can paint a representation of it. There is a significant amount of variation used and it really brings out the warm feeling that you would have if you were there just by the colors chosen. Just look at how well the color differentiates from light to dark especially when he incorporates a light source. Sometimes he makes subtle changes between the variations and sometimes he makes truly dramatic changes. His color variations really seem to flow together real nicely and he makes it so that you can tell when there is a landscape change and you don’t even have to strain your eyes. Even though you get the feeling that this is a very mellow piece he does manage to create some tension in it by the way he makes a rough blend between the trees and the mountainous region. With the colors that he is using he ends up making the foreground’s details lack a little bit but he makes up for it in the middle ground because that is where he wants the main focus of attention to be with his lightly painted house.
